Belmont CSM Pods Program
The CSM Alumni Career Mentoring Pods program connects undergraduate students in Belmont University’s College of Sciences and Mathematics with alumni whose professional experiences align with students’ career interests. The program is designed to give students access to practical career perspectives, professional role models, and relationships with alumni while creating a manageable and meaningful way for alumni to engage with current students.
Rather than establishing traditional one-to-one mentoring relationships, the program organizes participants into small mentoring pods, normally consisting of one alumni mentor and three to four students. This model allows multiple students to benefit from each alumni volunteer while also creating opportunities for students to learn from one another.
Alumni Mentor Volunteers for spring 2027 come from a wide range of careers including medicine, pharmaceuticals, research, engineering, education, analytics, and sales.
The program is designed primarily for students who have progressed far enough in their academic careers to begin thinking seriously about the relationship between their education and future careers. Initially, the program will focus on second-semester sophomores based on cohort, not credit hours attained, although students at other stages may participate when appropriate. Mentors will engage students twice during the spring 2027 semester.
